More

How often have you heard of a 6 minute animated movie that kicked you square on the balls??  that’s right, you heard me.
More is a path breaker of epic proportions, its a masaiah of animated movie making, no new grounds of animation were broken in its making,it didn’t take animation to the next frontier but gosh!!
what a storyline!!

Simply all the emotions follow through,2 minutes into the movie i forgot where i was sitting. The music, the dull gray coloring and the little clay dark circles under the eyes of the lead character, boy do they all work.
I will say this,This movie is a life saver.

Mark Osborne, famous for Kung Fu Panada and my favorite SpongeBob Square Pants, truly an artist.

The 6 minutes between a meeting and a coffee break will do just fine for this one.Turn the volume up!!

until next time,
that’s all folks

Cloverfield

September 22, 2008
what the hell is that?!!

One major difference between movie and real life is perspective, as audience we have the liberty to walk around into as many different perspectives as the director intends us to, to get an idea of what is going on.This is what gives it the feel of passive observance.

So why would any director want to handicap himself of this power?? why give up on clarity, why force confusion, why restrict perspective?

This is a ground breaking movie, the risk was there, NO!!, it doesn’t spoon feed you the emotional turmoil, ready in a hot plate, garnished so you can lap it up whilst sitting comfortably in your theater seats,NO!! cause that is not what is happening, there is  confusion in the minds of the characters, and this movie goes one step further than showing confusion,it makes you feel it. And therein lies the reason for its greatness.

Congratulations Matt Reeves, this is brilliant work.

A proper viewing ambience is essential for this one.

Until next time
that’s all folks!!

here i go…WICKER PARK

September 5, 2008

The first movie am going to talk about is WICKER PARK because its fresh in my mind.I am guilty of watching movies long after they release sort of like clearing the backlog in effect making it larger.
Well anyway, do bare with me.

To start of I have respect for Josh Hartnett, since ‘lucky number slevin’ and the way the movie started of i didn’t expect too much from it,the lines were cliched and the characters not properly built.I didn’t understand how he turned his life round from a repair guy to handling ‘deals’ from china.

Enter Rose Byrne, things start to change, i understand the plot, i understand the complication, a youngster loosing grip, basking in the awe of a friend she longed to live a life like. The wide eyes and the half open mouth she did everything to keep her close until she realized she needed to push her away.
I understand how she lies and the the pain and sadness of it grip her. Then is see the brilliance in direction, how all this is kept from the audience right to the very end.

U get a freakish dump of events and you cant help feeling bad for having been so quick to judge her intensions. All she wanted was love. She tried and failed and in her words “I’m the one who has to live with this not you”

great piece of cinema, very neatly portrayed and executed: some patience is advised:
until next time,
thats all folks
